How to Create Business Cards

Business Cards

Business cards are one of the single most effective forms of marketing yourself. Business cards have the ability to generate business or scare away business which is why you should take designing and printing your business card seriously. I personally have designed my cards myself using Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher. There are easy ways to create business cards that can save you a lot of money. Some companies even give away the  first couple of hundred cards.

One such company is Vistaprint.com, a great place to start. Not only does Vistaprint.com print business cards they also manufacture almost any type of office supply you can think of. As you can see in the screen shot, you can purchase 500 cards for $10. That’s incredible. I purchased 1,000 business cards from my local print center for around $150. I feel so ripped off now! I could have gotten 1,000 for around $20-$25 if I had known about Vistaprint.com.

This website does it all.  I recommend looking around at all of the options before beginning.

Setting up your business card layout is very easy. On the landing page, find the button that says free business card or Getting Started. This layout might change so look for anything that says business cards. Click the business card link and it should take you to a page that looks like the following image. Go ahead and select the industry that you’re in and it should take you to the next page.

Select the image of the business card design you like and it should take you to a page where you can fill in all of the appropriate  blanks. You don’t have fill out every single input box if you don’t want to. One address instead of three will be fine. Just make sure to double and triple check your spelling you don’t want to print 500 defective cards.

Continue on and fill out every box, until they ask you to pay. That’s it. Just keep it simple and move on to the marketing strategies. You don’t want to waste too much time with your business card.
